An all in one medical computer is an all in one computer that is tailor-made for hospitals and medical facilities. Other similar names include medical all in one PC, medical computer, medical computer with antimicrobial coating, medical all in one computer, and medical grade computer. These medical all in one computers usually have an integrated touch screen, antimicrobial coatings, and a waterproof front bezel to facilitate cleaning. They are used by nurses and other health care professionals for patient care, maintaining electronic medical records, analyzing lab and radiological data, and administrative functions.
The use of computers in medical facilities has skyrocketed the last few years. The days of paper are almost gone now, with the introduction of sophisticated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software and high-performance, networked PCs to run the software throughout a medical facility and at the point of care. Medical equipment has become more sophisticated, and hospitals are also expanding and upgrading their IT technology to keep pace with other technology changes in order to keep the entire enterprise running more efficiently. New PC features and functionality are also more in demand, such as touch screen capability, widescreen displays, and built-in security or access scanners for fingerprints, barcodes, or smart cards.
All in one medical PCs are now used everywhere in a hospital: the emergency room, the OR, nurses’ stations, reception desks, administration offices and even in patient rooms. Medical computers may be mounted on a wall or extension arm, or placed on a mobile powered cart that can be used in patient rooms to dispense medication, update electronic health records, or even provide computing resources to the patient. In sterile environments within a medical facility, a medical grade computer may be needed. A medical grade computer usually meets medical safety standards, has an antimicrobial coating and also has an IP65 certified front bezel to enable cleaning – this helps to maintain a sterile and germ-free environment.
Medical Specifications:
The plastic used in creating the all in one medical computer case needs to have worldwide medical certifications that include medical electrical safety standards UL60601-1 & EN60601-1. Medical grade computers should also be IP65 certified, which means they are dustproof and waterproof. Practitioners may spray and wipe down the medical computer without damaging the electronics inside.
An all in one medical computer should also be capable of absorbing shock to protect the components inside, allowing patients and doctors to use the medical computer on a cart or extension arm without damaging it. With recent changes in health care legislation and policy, electronic medical records (EMR) are becoming a requirement. All-in-one medical computers must now have the performance required to run EMR software and display medical records at point-of-care.
Cybernet and AIO PC Technology:
Cybernet is the industry pioneer in all in one PC technology. Since 1996, we have been developing and manufacturing reliable, high-performance all-in-one computer solutions that can be customized to fit any enterprise environment. We serve a wide range of industries, including banking, health care, education, government and POS systems for retail. For health care, our all-in-one PCs are mounted on medical carts, used at nursing stations, and the medical computers with antimicrobial coatings are used in sterile environments such as operating rooms.
Cybernet’s product lines include several all-in-one PC designs in compact packages. Our iOne-GX45 is an all in one, customizable LCD PC that has the computing power of a desktop PC packaged in an LCD monitor. Similarly, the iOne-H5 and iOne-G4 are powerful touch screen PCs with a widescreen display. The ZPC-D5 is a computer housed in a keyboard, with a “zero footprint” on your desktop. There are 4 medical grade touch screen PCs ideal for use in a hospital or clinic, including an all in one medical computer (the iOne-MP171), a fanless all in one medical computer (the iOne-MP172), the CyberMed G45 medical PC, and the CyberMed MP15T, with integrated scanners, card readers, Skype VoIP and webcam. All 4 have an antimicrobial coating for sterile medical environments. The iOne-MP172 can also be used as a fanless industrial PC.
