A keyboard PC or keyboard computer is a PC contained inside a keyboard. With no PC tower needed, keyboard computers are said to have a “zero footprint”. They fit on any desktop that has room for a standard keyboard, usually support dual monitors, and have multiple I/O ports. Keyboard PCs are among the smallest desktop computers available on the market. Their compact design and light weight make them ideal for any enterprise desktop use. Keyboard computers have another key advantage: any monitor can be made into a fully functioning PC system by merely connecting a keyboard computer to it. That’s a major cost advantage when implementing an enterprise-wide upgrade because new monitors don’t have be purchased; the old ones can be used.
Advantages:
Keyboard computers have components such as memory, drives, and processors that are a smaller form factor - similar to what notebook computers use. Because keyboard computers are small, they require less power and generate less heat. Not only do they save space, but they save energy and money over the long run.
The small size of these keyboard computers enables them to be placed in limited spaces. If you have room for a keyboard on your desk, you have room for a keyboard computer. Some keyboard PCs also support dual monitors, so converting over to a keyboard PC means you just replace an ordinary keyboard with the computer; much less disruption to the enterprise user. Although they have a small form factor, keyboard PCs have the same processing power and performance of a standard desktop computer system and can handle any enterprise software application. Keyboard computers are cost-effective because they are easier to deploy – in a matter of minutes – easing the burden on the IT staff.
Cybernet and Keyboard Computer Technology:
Cybernet is the industry pioneer in all in one PC technology. Since 1996, we have been developing and manufacturing reliable, high-performance all-in-one computer solutions that can be customized to fit any enterprise environment. We serve a wide range of industries, including banking, health care, education, government and POS systems for retail. In banking, our keyboard PCs and LCD PCs are used at teller windows and customer areas where workspace is constrained. For health care, our all-in-one PCs are mounted on medical carts, used at nursing stations, and the antimicrobial medical computers are used in sterile environments such as operating rooms. In education and government, our LCD PCs and keyboard PCs are used in libraries, government offices, and classrooms to save space and increase efficiency. Finally, our all-in-one PCs with touch screens are used in retail environments at kiosks or at POS locations.
Cybernet's all-in-one keyboard computers have been used in many of our vertical markets, such as banking, health care, retail, government, industrial, and education. The latest keyboard PC, the ZPC-D5, is the slimmest, lightest keyboard ever, less than an inch thick and weighing just 2.8 pounds. The ZPC-D5 keyboard computer has a wide array of ports and connectivity to support dual monitors, serial or parallel port legacy devices, 6 USB ports, 1 Gb Ethernet, and 802/11 a/b/g/n wireless networking.
