Widescreen PCs are those with a rectangular “letter-box” format that enable side-by-side viewing of documents or graphics. Widescreen PC displays have a 16:9 aspect ratio. Made popular by widescreen TVs, the average enterprise computer user now demands widescreen displays for business applications. Widescreen PCs are used in hospitals to view patient records alongside x-rays or lab results, or in any industry where multitasking is needed.
Widescreen Technology
Widescreen computer displays refer to width-to-height aspect ratios greater than 4:3. Most widescreen PCs or displays typically have a 16:9 aspect ratio. Before 2003, most computer displays used a 4:3 aspect ratio. As LCD displays became more popular and the prices decreased, computer users starting buying widescreen models with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The demand came from the obvious benefits: the ability to display and compare documents side by side, to view CAD or other large drawings, and to view data from two different sources simultaneously. The screen resolutions for widescreen PCs vary, and include 1024x576, 1152x648, 1280x720, 1600x900, and 1920x1080.
Cybernet and AIO PC Technology:
Cybernet is the industry pioneer in all in one PC technology. Since 1996, we have been developing and manufacturing reliable, high-performance all-in-one computer solutions that can be customized to fit any enterprise environment. We serve a wide range of industries, including banking, health care, education, government and POS systems for retail. In banking, our keyboard PCs and LCD PCs are used at teller windows and customer areas where workspace is constrained. For health care, our all-in-one PCs are mounted on medical carts, used at nursing stations, and the antimicrobial medical computers are used in sterile environments such as operating rooms. In education and government, our LCD PCs and keyboard PCs are used in libraries, government offices, and classrooms to save space and increase efficiency. Finally, our all-in-one PCs with touch screens are used in retail environments at kiosks or at POS locations.
Cybernet’s product lines include several all-in-one PC designs in compact packages. Our iOne-GX45 is an all in one, customizable LCD PC that has the computing power of a desktop PC packaged in an LCD monitor. Similarly, the two widescreen all in one PCs, the iOne-H5 and iOne-G4, are powerful touch screen PCs. There are 4 medical grade touch screen PCs ideal for use in a hospital or clinic, including a medical all in one computer (the iOne-MP171), a fanless all in one medical computer (the iOne-MP172), the CyberMed G45 medical PC, and the CyberMed MP15T, with integrated scanners, card readers, Skype VoIP and webcam. All 4 have an antimicrobial coating for sterile medical environments. The iOne-MP172 can also be used as a fanless industrial PC.
