Environmental Practices

As the personal computer continues to find a place in the homes and offices of people everywhere, there is a growing concern over what to do with old computers, parts, and other electronics. Cybernet Manufacturing has always encouraged reusability; through our refurbished outlet we have reduced environmental impact while offering affordable solutions to our customers. We also offer our Trade-In Programs for clients to receive credit on an older model towards the purchase of a new one. A trade in of a previous Cybernet system not only keeps the unit out of the local landfill; it also extends its usability to someone else after we refurbish it. We will also recycle your old PC for you, free of charge. These initial steps are only the beginning. Cybernet continues to care deeply about our environment.

COMPLIANCE
As a company, we have taken steps to ensure both our products and our practices are environmentally sound. All our carton materials, including cardboard and foam, are made from recyclable materials and are fully recyclable themselves. We are committed to manufacturing products that not only meet and exceed computing expectations but also conserve energy. Cybernet complies with the following standards, ratings and certifications. We have included additional links in each section so you can learn more about these programs and requirements.

EPEAT Program
EPEAT is a program of the Green Electronics Council, a government-industry consortium focused on reducing environmental impact of electronics products. EPEAT has 51 total criteria; 23 required and 28 optional. To qualify for EPEAT registration, the product must conform to all the required criteria (Bronze level). For an EPEAT Silver, the product must also meet 50% of the optional criteria, and for EPEAT Gold, the product must also meet 75% of the optional criteria. All of Cybernet’s all-in-one PCs carry ratings of EPEAT Gold or Silver. Our iOne-GX45, iOne-H5, iOne-G4 have EPEAT Gold ratings, and our iOne-MP PCs and ZPC PCs carry an EPEAT Silver rating.

U.S. EPA Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines (CPG)
This EPA program is part of EPA’s continuing effort to promote the use of materials recovered from solid waste, ensuring that collected materials collected will be reused in manufacturing. Cybernet meets the guidelines of this EPA program.

RoHS
Our products are RoHS compliant. By meeting the RoHS directive, Cybernet demonstrates a commitment to manufacture and supply products that protect environmental interests. This means all parts of our technology, including the metal, plastic, components, and plastic circuit boards are recyclable as well.

TRADE-IN PROGRAM
For those customers who have a Cybernet all-in-one PC and are interested in upgrading to a new Cybernet all-in-one PC, here is how our trade-in program works:

  • To begin the process, contact us and request a trade-in. Tell us which model you have now and which new model you want.
  • Cybernet will arrange to pick up your old all-in-one PC. Once we receive it in our production facility, we will evaluate its trade-in value. We analyze the age of the computer, the configuration, whether it has original parts, whether it’s functioning optimally, and whether it’s been used properly. From this analysis, we determine the amount of the trade-in value.
  • The trade-in value is issued to you in the form of a rebate check. That check can then be used toward the purchase of your new all-in-one PC.
  • After our production facility has completed the evaluation, we recycle your old computer according to our strict environmentally-responsible procedures, and applicable state and federal laws.

CYBERNET’S RECYCLING PROGRAM
There are many options to consider when a PC is no longer useful to its owner. One might consider selling unneeded equipment, offering it to a family member or friend, or donating it to a school, charity, non-profit, or similar organization. If the equipment is not suitable for donation, re-use, or resale, then Cybernet’s recycling program is the option for you. Cybernet is here to assist you with recycling your old Cybernet products that may not be suitable for the above-mentioned practices. Cybernet will recycle your old all-in-one PC free of charge. To begin the process, click on the link below. You will be filling out a form to request an authorization number that we will send you, then you’ll add that number to a second form and you’re done. Cybernet will pick up your PC and recycle it for you.

USEFUL LINKS
The US EPA website also has useful information on Electronics Recycling.

Certain states are already beginning to assist in recycling efforts, offering information regarding locations of permanent collection sites and local eCycling events. Websites such as E-cycling Central and Electronic Recyclers International can help anyone in the United States find the most convenient e-waste recycling method.

As customers in California are aware, the state has been charging an eWaste recycle fee on most video display products since January 1st, 2005. To understand more about this fee, and to find a recycling center near you, please visit http://erecycle.org/
