What does 60601-1 Medical Certification mean?
IEC 60601-1 is considered the global standard for medical electrical equipment, including small pc products, and many healthcare organizations view compliance with IEC 60601-1 as a de facto requirement for their mini pc purchases. The Cybernet iOne-MP171 & iOne-MP172 all-in-one PCs have passed certification testing to gain both UL60601-1 and EN60601-1 certifications. Being UL60601-1 certified means the small pc has passed stringent testing approved by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the United States and recognized by the FDA. In Europe, the MDD (Medical Device Directive) requires documentation of compliance to EN60601-1 for all medical devices that are not low-risk, non-sterile devices. The process of evaluating medical equipment for compliance with the requirements of these certifications is rigorous and complex.
