Frequently Asked Questions
What is the AI Performance of the CyberEdge AI Series?
Each unit is powered by the NVIDIA® Jetson Orin™ NX, delivering up to 100 TOPS with 1024 CUDA cores, 32 Tensor cores, and 2x NVIDIA® Deep Learning Accelerator Engines. That's triple the performance of the Jetson AGX Xavier.
Can I get a version with 8GB memory or different storage capacity?
Yes. While the standard build includes 16GB RAM and 256GB NVMe storage, custom configurations are available. Contact sales to explore options that fit your needs.
What is the CAN FD bus used for?
The CAN FD (Flexible Data-rate) bus enables high-speed communication between the CyberEdge AI computer and vehicle systems. Developed by Bosch as an upgrade to the original CAN bus, CAN FD supports faster data transfer and larger payloads, making it ideal for modern vehicles with complex sensor arrays. Through this interface, the industrial AI computer can collect data from the vehicle's onboard computers, monitor sensor activity in real time, and even control specific systems—perfect for fleet management, autonomous applications, or heavy equipment.
What is Ignition Control?
In vehicle environments, the initial ignition cycle often causes voltage fluctuations that can drop well below 12V. These spikes can disrupt or damage sensitive electronics, preventing proper system boot-up. CyberEdge's Ignition Control feature detects when the vehicle is powering on and introduces a programmable delay, allowing voltage to stabilize before the AI PC begins its startup sequence. This ensures a clean, reliable boot every time, even under unstable power conditions common in automotive and industrial mobile deployments.
What operating systems are supported?
The CyberEdge AI series runs Linux and comes preinstalled with the NVIDIA® JetPack SDK, which includes libraries and tools optimized for AI, computer vision, and edge computing. Custom configurations may support other Linux distributions upon request.
Can I deploy and run custom AI models on this device?
Yes. The system supports popular AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and ONNX via the JetPack SDK. You can train models offsite and deploy them locally for real-time inference at the edge, no cloud required.
Does the unit support wireless connectivity?
Wireless is available as an option. The CyberEdge AI computer can be configured with Intel® AX210 for Wi-Fi 6E and supports 4G/5G LTE with GPS, making it ideal for remote or mobile deployments.
How is this system cooled in tough environments?
The unit uses intelligent fan control and industrial-grade ventilation to regulate internal temperatures efficiently. Its compact, dust-tolerant design supports operating temperatures from -25°C to 70°C.
Is remote device management possible?
Yes. With network access, the system can be remotely monitored, updated, and configured using standard Linux-based tools or third-party device management solutions, which is especially useful for distributed or fleet-wide deployments.
