1/27/20 Irvine, CA – Cybernet Manufacturing has won a major contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs, which will be rolled out nationally at all of their VA Hospitals. The VA has selected the CyberMed Rx medical grade tablet as part of their tracking system for the sterilization of surgical instruments. The initial contract calls for 534 units, with more orders coming in incrementally.

The VA will be using the CyberMed RX in conjunction with Censis CensiTrac surgical instrument tracking software. As surgical instruments are taken from the OR to a decontamination room for sanitation, the CensiTrac software, powered by Cybernet’s hardware, allows technicians to accurately scan and track instruments through every stage of the sanitation process all the way to safe storage for the next surgical procedure. This setup will allow VA facilities to track entire trays of instruments all the way down to a single scalpel by using the integrated barcode scanner on the CyberMed Rx medical grade tablet.

“We knew we were the perfect fit for the VA. We’ve designed all of our medical grade computers to be safe for near patient use and for sterile environments. That’s why our units can be found in ICU wards, operating rooms, and compounding pharmacies all over the world,” said Ali Bagheri, VP of Global Operations at Cybernet. “We’re thrilled to have solidified our relationship with the Department of Veteran Affairs and are confident that our combination of medical grade standards, powerful components, and unrivaled long-term reliability and affordability will serve them well for many years to come.”

The Veteran’s Health Administration is the largest integrated health care system in the United States, and is one of the largest health care systems in the world. The VA serves the 9 million U.S. veterans who receive treatment at their facilities.
