Challenge
In 2021, Tri-State Surgery was upgrading to a new electronic health records (EHR) system and needed a modern computer solution to support it. Given the high stakes of surgeries, this computer also needs to be reliable, easy to use, and ergonomic to preserve comfort during lengthy procedures. After experiencing Cybernet computers via one of their partners, Tri-State Surgery contacted Cybernet as a potential solution to their needs.
Solution
After a trial run with several other competing solutions, Tri-State Surgery selected the CyberMed NB20 battery-powered medical computer as its new EHR support platform. During the trials, Tri-State’s healthcare providers found the CyberMed NB20 more comfortable to work with thanks to its lighter weight, silent operations, and overall design quality. Tri-State Surgery also found the NB20 to be far more cost-effective than other competitors, with the smaller 20” screen making units more affordable while still delivering the performance that they needed. The flexibility of the NB20 also meant that it could be used in every phase of surgical procedures, from pre-operative assessment to supporting anesthesiologists during the operation to post-op recovery and discharge.
Results
Tri-State Surgery was more than pleased with its investment in the CyberMed NB20, reporting zero technical issues with its units in over four years of continuous use. Beyond their initial use for operations support, Tri-State also discovered that the NB20 could seamlessly connect to Topaz e-signature devices, simplifying the paperwork signing process for patients. Tri-State’s team has been so pleased with their experience with Cybernet that they will upgrade to the newer CyberMed G22B.
We use these computers everywhere, from pre-operation assessment to the procedure itself to recovery afterward, and we've never had an issue when it comes to reliability or compatibility, ever.
