Northern Montana Health Care Trusts Cybernet Medical PCs for 15 Years

Northern Montana Health Care (NMHC) is a not-for-profit healthcare company with multiple services. Their primary facility, a 25-bed critical access hospital, offers emergency services, oncology, family medicine, and more.

With limited space available in their facilities, NMHC’s team constantly ran into the issue of not having enough room for a computer, monitor, and all the necessary equipment to do their jobs, whether that was at a desk or the patient’s bedside. PC towers were a particular struggling point, as they were bulky, heavy, and added cable clutter to the workspace.

NHMC came across Cybernet’s line of all-in-one medical PCs, and quickly realized they could be the solution to the space problem they were dealing with. Sure enough, replacing the PC tower and monitor with a single device freed up considerable amounts of desk space. However, other benefits made themselves obvious over the years as well. In the decade and a half of partnership, NMHC came to appreciate the superior reliability and longevity, with years going by without a customer support ticket being filed. Staff have also come to appreciate the front-facing RFID scanner and one-touch privacy button, which make workflows such as medication dispensing and cleaning simpler for them.

Another major shift came about when NMHC transitioned from powered carts to manual carts. Cybernet supported this change with our battery-powered medical computers, such as the CyberMed G24B, which negate the need for a powered cart in the first place. This enabled NMHC to switch to manual carts that were lighter, less expensive, easier to maintain, and easier to use.

For over fifteen years now, NHMC has trusted Cybernet’s medical computers in multiple roles. At this point, NMHC prefers Cybernet for any role in their OR or ICU facilities that requires mobility, and is currently considering NB-series monitors for dual-screen setups in similar environments. Similar plans are being made to explore Cybernet’s line of medical tablets, to see if they have a role to play in NHMC’s workflows as well.

\Whenever we’re looking for a solution, Cybernet is one of the first partners we look to.
